a.k.a. Turtle Dove

Streptopelia capicola

A male Ring-necked Dove

These birds are native to Africa from the southern Sudan to South Africa.

The clutch consists of 2 white eggs which hatch in 12 days. The young fledge at 16-17 days.

This is the common domestic dove, which in its white form is well known as a peace symbol and in magicians' hats.
